The Google Chrome extension has a virtual on-screen keyboard where you can type in a variety of languages. IME brings up a list of characters in your chosen language so you can select the character that fits the letter or syllable. Input Method Editors (IME) convert keystrokes of letters based on the letter sound. The language editor converts the sounds of whatever word you type (in whatever language you select) into a similar-sounding word. Transliteration is a process of changing a word based on phonetic sounds. You can change it in the language bar and continue to write in your native language. To use it in Microsoft Word, download the Google Input Chrome extension, then change the default English language to your native one. You can also use this app on text document software currently available on Google Drive without the extension. The Chrome extension allows you to use Google Input Tools on any website while in Chrome. However, you can install a Google Chrome extension, which works just as well. Google Input Tool is not available as a download for Windows anymore. It also has keyboard shortcuts when changing languages in Google services. The input text methods include Input Method Editor, virtual keyboards, and handwriting. This multilingual tool is versatile, as you can use different input methods for other languages on your Windows PC or your touchscreen device.
